This is an S scale layout which if you do not
know is a 1:64th
full size or 3/16 inch to a foot. Therefore it is larger than 4mm but
smaller than 7mm. East Lynn is a small town and seaport in Norfolk
served by the Great Eastern Railway. The scene is set around 1900. The
layout is presented by Trevor Nunn.

Highbury Colliery

This layout has recently appeared in the
November 2009 Railway
Modeller. It is by Jerry and Kim Clifford and is based on the Somerset
and Dorset in the North Somerset coalfield in the 1920's.

is set in part of a steel works in the South
Bristol area.
Works locos are steam with diesels making their appearance. This layout
by Richard Lear has received many good reviews in the railway press and
has appeared in recent times in Model Rail, Railway Modeller etc. |

| Lulworth |

This is by the Basingstoke and North Hants Tuesday night
group
and
is somewhat of a rebirth of a previous layout of the same name. This is
an 00 layout, track is code 75 by SMP and Peco with hand built now
making
an appearance as the group become more experienced. It represents a
fictitious double track branch line from the LSWR main line at Wool.
The assumption being that Lulworth followed Swanage's lead in expansion
to a small town and holiday destination. However at the outbreak
of the great war the line was doubled and a branch serving the military
establishments as well as the Purbeck clay was built and still sees
service at the period depicted mid 50's to early sixties. A large dairy
also provides regular freight over the line. |

This layout is set in 1922 and is a fictitious Forest of Dean
coal
exporting port. This layout is by Angus Watkins and has appeared in the
railway Modeller Oct and Nov 2002.

A modern image (1981-1986) layout based on the Peak Forest
and Dove
Holes Quarry area in the Peak District. Main freight is limestone with
a limited passenger service. The layout is owned by a member of the
Isle of Thanet Railway Society.

Rhineside
is a German TT layout by Dave Harris and John O'Dell of the BNHMRS and
most recently was taken to the ECE model rail club and displayed at
their exhibtion in Euskirchen in Germany and was received with good
feed back and encouragement from all. The layout is based on a section
of line on the west bank of the Rhine.

Built
in 2009 this model is new on the exhibition circuit with Brian and
Rosemary Humphries having taken five years out. The layout is based
somewhere in Germany, the scene is dominated by a castle hence the name
of the layout. The layout consists of six circuits to ensures there is
something on the move at all times. The fiddle yard at the rear
facilitates regular stock changes.

This modern image branch layout is the first time the layout
or its
owners have appeared as exhibitors. Bruce and Helen Armstrong present
the layout. Bruce has had some experience of building a N gauge layout
in very challenging circumstances an article appeared earlier this year
in Railway Modeller relating to that project.
