Reading Depot Visit October 2004
The day started at 10am when Brian Cox gave us a talk about the history of the depot and it's work in the present day. We then had a tour of the depot staring at the upper triangle where the 165/6 dmu's are stored we had a chance to look around the maintenance shed where the units are inspected and cleaned, we where also able to look inside the units and sit at the controls. Then we moved to the lower triangle where there are two shed one belongs to the track maintenance company Jarvis where we were able to seesome of the track maintenance vehicles. the other shed is for servicing the 165/6 units where the larger jobs are tackled like engine changes. I would like to thank Brian for organising the trip. See the gallery for photos from the trip.
