the Basingstoke & North Hants Model Railway Society
The Society meets in it's own club
house on Monday through Thursday nights weekly. We support 5 working
groups, The Academy, O Gauge, OO Modern image, OO Steam image and
2mm Finescale. At regular intervals
we all meet for formal Society business or for social activities
such as video shows, or for club house maintenance sessions and
BBQ's.
Currently the society has 3 layouts either
fully operational or under construction:
- SE28
OO, a modern image freelance layout based on a South London scene.
- Lulworth which is a 29 foot long OO finescale layout loosely based on Swanage.
- Year End The Academy's layout.
Whilst the above 3 layouts are owned by
the Society, the rolling stock is owned by the members.
Meanwhile, some members have their own layouts at home and most
have other interests in other scales, gauges and styles.
The current 2mm layout which is owned & operated by a sub-group
is Coley Park.
Also the O Gauge layout HW Yard is owned & operated by a sub-group of members although a full club layout is being planned.
